Entrepreneurs of Chinese Xinjiang and Kazakhstan discussed opportunities for cooperation A presentation of trade and economic cooperation between the enterprises of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China and Kazakhstan was held in Astana. The event was held within the framework of the forthcoming week of XUAR at the international exhibition "Expo" with the participation of representatives of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Astana. Representatives of the state bodies of the XUAR, the Office for International Exhibitions, the Kazakhstan-China Trade Promotion Association, and the Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan described the potential for the development of bilateral economic ties. The parties noted the dynamic growth of trade turnover between the two countries and the great potential of cooperation in various fields of the economy. Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan Nuraly Bokeykhanov noted that China since the first years of independence of Kazakhstan has become an important economic partner of our country. "At the same time, there is still a potential for the development of trade, our economic ties are expanding. And one of the main projects is the revival of the Silk Road", - said Nuraly Bokeykhanov. According to him, separately the XUAR accounts for the lion's share of the commodity turnover between the RK and China - over 70%. In 2016, the trade turnover between our countries amounted to more than 13 billion dollars.

The parties noted that cross-border trade is facilitated by ICBC "Khorgos". Taking into account the fact that Kazakhstan and XUAR have similar tasks for the development of infrastructure, agriculture, light and heavy industries, much attention should be given these sectors. The official part of the meeting ended with a discussion between the companies of XUAR and Kazakhstan in the B2B format.
