By 2030, Korea plans to increase the production of renewable energy to 20%

The event was attended by the Permanent Commissioner of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea, Kim Young Sam, CEO and President of KOTRA (Korean Agency for Trade and Investment Promotion) Kim Jae Hong, Vice Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Yerlan Khairov, Commissioner of the Korean Pavilion Kim Dae Sik, as well as the Honorary Ambassador of the pavilion of Korea and actor So Kang Joon.

In his solemn speech, the Permanent Commissioner of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea, Kim Young Sam himself noted that South Korea promotes the promotion of clean energy at the state level. By 2030, the state plans to increase energy production through renewable sources to 20%. In this regard, Korea has something to show in its pavilion. Today, the Korean Pavilion is one of the most visited pavilions at EXPO-2017. The number of visitors at the moment has exceeded 150,000 guests, Kim Yong Sam added. Summarizing his speech, the pavilion commissioner spoke about bilateral economic relations between the two countries.

"Kazakhstan has become the country that attracted the largest amount of investment from the Republic of Korea to Central Asia. In 1992, the volume of the investment of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan was 21 million USD, and at the moment it is 3.78 billion. It is worth noting that the number of Kazakhstani residents traveling to the Republic of Korea has increased to 30%", - Kim Young Sam said.

In his turn, Vice-Minister for Investments and Development of Kazakhstan Erlan Khairov noted that the economy of Kazakhstan and Korea complement each other. In Kazakhstan, for many years, various models of Korean cars have been used as "Kia" and "Hyundai". He also noted that the closeness and brotherhood of our peoples is connected with history.

"As you know, more than 100 thousand ethnic Koreans live in Kazakhstan. Therefore, we can’t fail to note the historical closeness and brotherhood of our people. Kazakhstan is actively adopting the experience of Korea. Thanks to the programs, many students receive a high-quality higher education. Today, "the country of morning dew" is one of the most energy-efficient countries in the world", - Yerlan Khairov said.

After the official part, the guests of the Exhibition were impressed by the dancers of the famous Korean B-Boy team, as well as the female K-pop band "Sorea Band". The traditional Korean martial art - taekwondo was also demonstrated on the stage. At the same time, for the guests and journalists, a fan meeting was held with the famous Korean actor So Kang Jung.
