The head of the Kazakhstani Tourist Association says that the situation in Turkey did not hit the financial condition of the tourists and the companies

According to Rashida Shaikenova, the question of security of tourists is number one for domestic companies.

"Our tourists got in a difficult situation. They had to decide whether to go on a tour to Turkey, to change the direction, or to refuse from foreign travel. We fully understand that there was a difficulty, because there was a threat of loss of financial resources, and it certainly played a role. Despite the fact that the Committee of Civil Aviation suspended flights to Antalya for a short period, where the majority of our countrymen go, but the flights were resumed in just a few hours. Those, who were planning to rest on the Turkish coast, took off, and today we get the information from our visitors, that everything is calm, the weather is wonderful, in these days Antalya hosts international specialized exhibition EXPO", - said the head of the KTA. However, Rashida Shaikenova stressed that the issue of security of tourist travel - is number one, and concerns of Kazakhstani tourists about the situation in Turkey is understandable.

As it was stated by the Chairman of the Kazakhstani Tourist Association, there is no critical situation today. "Someone changed direction, the date of departure to Turkey and other European countries, there are those, who wished to go to Burabay. We kept our finger on the pulse, examined the number of abandoned tour packages", - said Rashida Shaikenova.

According to her, every day managers of travel agencies conduct systematic work with all tourists, during which they find out their demands, needs, that is, the market suggests all possible options to its customers. "On the side of Turkish partners there are also no problems, hoteliers perfectly understand the situation, and consider all possible options for the return of money", - added Shaikenova.

The most important issue, according to the head of KTA, is transport logistics. Rashida Shaikenova said that both domestic and foreign airlines with understanding agreed to change tickets for other destinations.

Rashida Shaikenova assured: this situation did not hit the financial condition of the Kazakhstani tourists and travel agencies, and it is the process of daily work, which will give its results.

"Every travel company took decisions independently. For example, in the first days after the terrorist attacks at Istanbul and Ankara, there were many phone calls, requests, and about 50 people submitted to one travel agency application on refusal from the tour packages. The next day, their number was reduced to 15, and now there are only two or three tourists, with which we solve the problem of return of travel packages and tickets", - said the head of Kazakhstani Tourist Association.

With regard to legislation, the law on tourist activity, according to Shaikenova puts clearly the task in front of the tourist market participants - consumers are fully informed about the current state of affairs. "That is, any manager of a travel company should tell its client in detail about the situation, explain, answer all the questions that may disturb tourists", - explained R. Shaykenova.

Commenting on the law on consumer rights, according to which the travel companies must return one hundred percent of the cost of travel, the head of the KTA did not fail to note that the law does not take into account some of the nuances of outbound tourism.

"In general, all well, except for one. Travel companies, that send tourists, work primarily with their foreign partners, who have their own rules of the game. And of course they will not obey to our laws", - summarized Rashida Shaikenova.
