Almaty and Luxembourg intend to develop cooperation
The most crisis-prone spheres of the economy were discussed by businessmen of the two countries at the business forum "Almaty-Luxembourg". Luxembourg businessmen arrived in Kazakhstan at the opening of Astana Expo-2017. Their country presented its pavilion at the international exhibition. Enchanted by the opening ceremony of the Expo, the guests went to Almaty to get acquainted personally with colleagues and discuss opportunities for cooperation. "Luxembourg is actively developing all areas of the economy. But the best areas are finance, logistics, legal services. Experience has shown that these types of businesses are the most crisis-resistant. In Luxembourg there are about two thousand information companies, employing more than 16 thousand people. And their number is constantly growing", - Jeanno Erpelding, Director for International Relations of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce said. He also noted that Almaty and Luxembourg have much in common. Both cities are in the center of their regions, Almaty in the heart of Central Asia, and Luxembourg in Europe. And both cities have no access to the sea. Luxembourg solved this problem by building a huge airport, the fifth largest in terms of volume and volume of traffic in Europe. Soon the country - the city will expand its logistics capabilities by the railway communication "Europe -Guangzhou". The guest expressed hope that this railway will pass through Kazakhstan. Jeannot Erpeding stated that Kazakhstan outstripped his country in the Doing Business ranking. But he assured that the Chamber of Commerce of Luxembourg successfully supports entrepreneurship since 1845. "The population of Luxembourg is 600 thousand people. At the same time, business entities are 90,000. All of them are obligatory members of the Chamber of Commerce", said Jeannot Erpeding. Both heavy and light industries are well-developed in Luxembourg. This country - the city actively explores space. About 30 companies are employed in this area today. And their law firms have developed a legal framework for the registration of property in outer space. Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Luxembourg is still poorly developed. But the guests expressed their hope that the absence of double taxation will have a positive impact on the dynamics of the development of bilateral relations.
