Head of the Metropolitan Tourism Association Rysty Karabaeva made a speech at the Kazakh-Chinese tourism forum in Astana. "How can we be of interest to Chinese tourists? In my opinion, the Silk Road - Kazakhstan can become our brand. If you look at the corridors of the Silk Road, from 2014 Chang'an Tien-Shan corridor passes through Kazakhstan. But if we look at the sales markets of the Silk Road, it looks as if Kazakhstan is not there at all: there are combined routes - Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, without entrance to Kazakhstan, and further it goes to China. I think it's time for us to recover the gap and to take their rightful place on the Silk Road", - she said.

According to Karabaeva, at Kazakhstan’s corridor to Silk Road there a lot of ancient settlements: Semirechye, Taraz, and Almaty region. Many of them were included in the UNESCO cultural heritage list. "It is necessary to bring these cities in an attractive condition and to include in the tourist routes", - added the head of the association.

Meanwhile, the head of the department of tourism of akimat of East Kazakhstan region Zhasulan Sarsebaev, speaking at the forum, offered to hold annually in Astana the International Tourism Forum and an exhibition of the participating countries of the Economic Belt of the Silk Road. "It should be noted that for the first time the idea of the creation of the Economic Belt of the Silk Road was announced by Mr. Xing Jinping in 2013 in Astana. We understand China's foreign policy, it is strategically important for them to revive the Silk Road. For us it will be useful to hold such an event in Astana, to develop this cooperation", - he said.

Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan "Atameken" Yuliya Yakupbaeva, who moderated the discussion, promised to include this proposal in the resolution of the forum.
