Businesses can receive grants for new technologies
Until August 31, the MES is accepting applications for participation in the project "Stimulation of productive innovations"
The National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan "Atameken" has invited representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science to its site in order to clarify the business conditions of the project "Stimulation of productive innovations". On 25th of July 2016 Project Management Unit of the Scientific Committee of MES has started accepting applications for grants to fund projects of research groups, which are focused on high-quality research with commercial potential. Deadline is extended to 31st of August of the current year.
"We often complain that there is no interaction between science and business, very little money is allocated on it. Also, there is criticism the main focus is put on fundamental science and little attention is paid to applied sciences. I think the Ministry of Education and Science, and the National Chamber of entrepreneurs were set up to ensure that this issue is resolved systematically. "Atameken" and the Ministry of Education actively cooperate in this sector", - said Deputy Chairman of NCE Murat Abenov, opening the meeting.
As reported the representatives of the Committee of Science, speaking at a seminar-meeting at "Atameken", Kazakh companies can participate in the project "Stimulation of productive innovations" through the creation of a highly skilled and motivated team, which includes a consultant for commercialization, as well as a scientist with a clear strategic vision, knowledge of the innovation cycle in a specific industry and market needs for the further introduction of technology into production.
The total amount of grant funding for the period from 2016 to 2020 will amount to 30 million USD. Grants for groups of senior researchers make up to 230 million tenge for the project. Grants for groups of junior researchers will amount to up to 180 million tenge for the project. Duration of grant is 3 years.
Also at the meeting was presented the program for grant funding of commercialization projects - results of scientific and (or) scientific and technical activities. The Science Committee of MES plans to hold the competition this year. The participants and the project team can be physical and legal persons, accredited by the Ministry as subjects of scientific activities, as well as the autonomous organization of education and their organizations on an equal footing.
Businesses and organizations, implementing in the production new ideas and technologies, have the opportunity to receive a grant (up to 400 million tenge) in agreement with the research institutes, universities, scientists, etc.
3.5 billion tenge was allocated on the financing of the program. The amount of the grant is about 200-400 million tenge with a term, not exceeding 36 months.
Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science invited business to take an active part in the implementation of projects to ensure breakthrough innovation in the country.
