Students from Singapore were interns at NCE
For the first time in Kazakhstan the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken" has become a platform for research under the partnership program with the National University of Singapore
The cooperation began in May 2015, when a delegation of the Singapore University came to Kazakhstan and met with the country's major players (Nazarbayev University, NCE, JSC "Samruk-Kazyna" and other organizations) in order to study the emerging economies.
As a result, their choice fell on NCE, as here they saw a great opportunity to explore the business cases and trends. As the project coordinator, the HR department of NCE in cooperation with Nazarbayev University and JSC "Center for International Programs" have introduced an internship program for foreign students and researchers at local organizations, where "Atameken" became a pilot project.
2 Singapore students Fabian Ho, majoring in "Management", and Tang Tinley, majoring in psychology, started internship on 25th of May to research NCE from inside, as well as outside. Undergoing internship at the human resources department, they conducted a comparative analysis of business in Kazakhstan and Singapore, conducted interviews with a focus group, that is, the majority of the department heads of NCE, they held meetings with Singaporean businessmen who do business in Kazakhstan.
In spare time they helped employees of NCE to learn English, and to transfer knowledge to Kazakh students held a master class at the High School of Business under Kazakh State Law University on the topic of time management and strategic SWOT analysis. The Singaporeans also got familiarized with the project "Presidential scholarship program "Bolashak" at JSC "Center for International Programs". As a result of this meeting JSC "CIP" began work on cascading NCE’s experience with internships for foreign students to all major companies of Kazakhstan.
