Nursultan Nazarbayev: "Kazakhstan has the best conditions for investors"
Foreign experts appreciate the stability, which beneficially affects the conditions for investment inflow
According to experts, investors, who work in Kazakhstan, today the Republic of Kazakhstan has created the best conditions in the region for investment. Such a statement was made today during the XXIX Plenary session of the Foreign Investors' Council by the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. It should be noted that the current meeting with investors was dedicated to the prospects of development of "Astana" International financial center.
"For example, in the framework of cooperation with international financial institutions - the World Bank, EBRD, ADB, over the next five years, according to our agreements will be attracted about 9 billion USD for the development of business, the financial sector, infrastructure, electric power industry", - said the Head of State . "And you know very well that no one in our region gets so much credit from financial institutions, and no one obtains such investments. We are very grateful for that, and we will do everything that is beneficial for banks and Kazakhstan", - assured Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The President of Kazakhstan noted that "today, we are gathered during difficult conditions for the global economy". Since last year, "in the context of global economic instability, Kazakhstani economic growth also slowed down, although we did not allow a significant recession to occur". According the Head of State it was influenced as well by "the weakening of national currencies of major trading partners and the deterioration of the situation in their markets".
"In August last year, we had to shift to the regime of freely floating exchange rate. We were forced to do it, but it was a right decision. It allowed to maintain substantially the competitiveness of the domestic economy and to save our foreign exchange reserves", - said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
According to the President, today the volume of foreign exchange reserves amounted to 95 billion USD, that is "a little more than half of Kazakhstan's GDP".
