EXPO expects 147 million euros from sponsors
Kazakhstan expects not only sponsors, but also wants to attract domestic companies to prepare for the exhibition
In accordance with the registration dossier of EXPO-2017, it is planned to involve 147 million euros of sponsorship funds. In addition, memos and contracts were signed between Kazakhstani and foreign companies equal 100 million euros. This was announced today during a meeting on the development of Astana and preparation for EXPO-2017 by the Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC" Astana EXPO-2017" Akhmetzhan Yesimov. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
"In addition to the previously adopted measures continues work on optimization of budget spending. This applies to radio communication systems, office equipment, inspection systems, server hardware, using the outsourcing model", - said Yessimov. He noted that "all this will give significant cost savings without adverse affect on the process of preparation and quality of the event".
Meanwhile, A. Yessimov pointed to some financial difficulties arising in the activities of the national company, which is headed by him.
"There are some difficulties due to the lack of design and estimate documentation, which should be developed in July 2015. General designer must issue design estimate documentation before the end of this month, however, together with the general contractor, the necessary operational solutions are adopted so that this situation doesn’t affect the pace of construction", - reported Yesimov.
Assessing the extent of participation of Kazakhstani producers, Yesimov said that "256 domestic companies" are involved in the construction of exhibition facilities. There were concluded contracts for 35 billion tenge, the number of employees is more than 30 thousand people, the total volume of services rendered, the goods supplied and materials amounted to 255.8 billion tenge. "The implementation of the above-mentioned set of measures shows that the exhibition - is a real anti-crisis measure", - said Yesimov.
In addition, the head of JSC "NC" Astana EXPO-2017" stated that "the exhibition will stimulate tourism development and improvement of services".
Construction of pavilions for exhibitors goes at full speed. Designing of the content of thematic pavilions "will be completed by the end of August of this year, and in September will begin finishing works".
The central object of the exhibition - an area where, there is a pavilion of Kazakhstan, which is built in accordance with the schedule. "Working documentation is approved by you. The concept of the main object of the exhibition – Sphere, as assured developers, will be ready on May 11, after which we will proceed with its implementation", - stated A. Yesimov.
83 countries and 14 international organizations confirmed their participation at EXPO-2017. More than 5 million visitors are expected during the exhibition, 85% of visitors will be from Kazakhstan.
