"Afloat"
Businessmen of Northern Kazakhstan returned to the traditional Russian markets
The collapse of the ruble in 2014, not only surprised the companies of North Kazakhstan region, but also helped to restore niches in the Russian border regions. Now business of NKR, which is export-oriented on the neighboring Russian Federation, is confident in the future of its trade.
Such an assessment was made at a briefing at the Service of Central Communications by Akim of the region Erik Sultanov. "Our businessmen were ready for this: We lowered the prices, so we managed to stay afloat", - he said.
Assessing the possibilities of regional business within the EAEU, E. Sultanov noted that North Kazakhstan has even some gains in respect of some items. According to the Akim, it's not just about the neighboring areas, closely adjacent to the region, Chelyabinsk and Novosibirsk regions.
"I can tell you that on a number of products, such as milk production we have an increase of 6.5%, as for the production of eggs 11% increase. This shows that we are competitive. A factory for the production of breakfast cereals is growing. "This plant also has a good prospect. And I think that at least 50% of its products will be sold on the territory of the Russian Federation", - said E. Sultanov.
The akim called the recovery of the company "Biochim", which was idle for several years as another economic event that expects North Kazakhstan. "All the necessary arrangements for the transfer of the industrial complex "Biochim" have been done, which has not worked for five years. 450 people lost their jobs. In the nearest future as we have agreed, "Samruk-Kazyna Invest" will consider the issue at the meeting of the investment committee", - said the akim, adding that a reboot of "Biochim" is scheduled for December 2016. In the case of the successful launch of the plant, it will produce bioethanol for Kazakhstani refineries. The akim also assured that "Biochim" will start to produce high quality products.
The management of RCE positively estimates the activities of local investors.
"Our business is not only to implement new projects that are profitable, but also to open such businesses that create good industrial demand for other sectors of the economy", - said the akim. As an example, he named the launch of the production of precast concrete frame and panel constructions. The use of such panels can significantly reduce construction time for labor-intensive industries, said the akim. In addition, the factory for the production of ceramic bricks, which will provide up to a third of the region with the necessary scope of the construction materials, was launched in the North-Kazakhstan region.
