We wish we had subsidies
Entrepreneurs, working in the sphere of passenger transportation, complain on unprofitability
Several long-distance passenger transportation companies addressed to RCE of Aktobe region.
"I have two mini-buses, each has 25 seats. We operate on the route Aktobe-Karatogay. The ticket price is 300 tenge. Private transport companies charge a fee of 500 tenge per person. Taxi drivers pick up all the customers, 3-4 people use buses every day, 15-20 people on Saturday and Sunday. Meanwhile, we are spending money on fuel and lubricants, spare parts, drivers’ wages", - complains an entrepreneur Kobeysin Zhaumytbaev.
"I am engaged in transportation along the route Aktobe-Wil, the price of the ticket is 1000 tenge, while taxi drivers take 2000-2500 tenge. The length of the route is 270 kilometers, of course, this money is not worth the expenses, but we have no other choice. To keep customers, we have to keep this price. We have to operate at a loss. There are days when we carry three or four people. We have to travel, as we fulfill the terms of the tender. We are waiting for help from the state", - said Kanay Ermukhambetov.
Experts of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Aktobe region believe that at least subsidies could reduce the tension in this matter.
"Under the terms of the tender, entrepreneurs must provide transportation of the population, despite the fact that the buses go half-empty. That is, they are forced to operate at a loss. We believe that it is necessary to subsidize loss-making routes and the social ones, together with law enforcement agencies we must take action against the taxi drivers working illegally. First of all, because they do not bear any responsibility for the lives and safety of passengers", - the expert of RCE Nurlan Makhambetov expressed his opinion during the round table with participation of entrepreneurs.
This issue will be practiced in conjunction with the Department of passenger transport and highways of Aktobe region.
