How the situation with prohibition of advertisements on foreign channels in Kazakhstan turned out

We are talking about the amendment to the law "On Broadcasting", which will come into force on 1st of January 2016 and includes a ban on dissemination of advertisements in the retransmission of foreign television and radio channels on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"Now they say that such a plan, allegedly will give people the opportunity to watch television without advertising. As I understand that not advertisements annoy people, but the stops during the broadcast of a program. But with introduction of innovations, the pause won’t disappear. The program will stop. Only instead of a dynamic advertising will be a static screen saver. We do not decide on the issue of TV viewing", - said the head of the "Association of operators of broadcasting" Sayat Nurakhmetov.

The representative of the cable television, director of PC "Fermata" Yuri Setsehovsky from Karaganda, said that the media publishes custom materials. "The day before yesterday on the website zakon.kz was released material that it is so good that we will watch TV programs without advertising. Incompetent person does not understand that it is impossible without advertising. I wrote a long commentary, but the moderator didn’t place it. I think the publication was ordered by someone. We must tell the people about the current situation on this website or another", - he said.

Nurakhmetov, in turn, said that such "turning of the situation upside down" is unacceptable. "They use conventional methods of informational influence on the audience and do not meet the criteria of objectivity. I understand that the authors of this amendment started the mechanism of no return, so it is good for them. But this is unacceptable to misinterpret the situation", - he said.
