Almaty and Nur-Sultan companies have to fire employees
Atameken asked the entrepreneurs how many employees they were going to fire during the state of emergency.
The survey was launched on March 23, 814 entrepreneurs filled in a questionnaire. Most of them are the entrepreneurs of Almaty (27%) and Nur-Sultan (22%), the cities that are under quarantine.
23% of those surveyed are entrepreneurs working in the tourism sphere, other individual services - 18%, education - 13%, accommodation and meals services - 98 enterprises or 12%.
In total, 814 enterprises employ over 14.2 thousand people. According to the survey results, 40% of employees will have unpaid leave during the quarantine. Another 12% of employees will be fired. The largest number of fired people is expected in Almaty (562 or 33%). In terms of the number of fired people, Nur-Sultan is second with 300 people, while Karaganda is third with 147 people. Also, the enterprises have sent or plan to send their employees on unpaid leave. In this respect, the largest numbers are in Almaty (31%), Nur-Sultan (21%) and Almaty region (9%).
Most of all, 21% (356 people) are planned to be fired in the tourism industry, the sphere of accommodation and meals is on second place with 19% (320 people). And, finally, education is on the 3rd place with 12% of respondents (199 people).
