The winners of the I-SEED project were named in Astana

The best teams received 2000 USD

In 2016, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs concluded a memorandum with the British Council (British Council) on mutual cooperation in the field of education and professional development of educators. The Memorandum adopted joint agreements on the main areas of strategic partnership, as well as defined the framework in which the Parties will be able to develop and implement joint projects.

One of the tasks of implementing the Memorandum was to support young people of Kazakhstan in developing employment and entrepreneurship skills in order to increase their competitiveness in the labor market.

Thus, NCE RK "Atameken" supported and assisted in the I-SEED project implemented by the British Council with the support of Chevron. The task of the project was to support young people of Kazakhstan in the formation of economically active and involved citizens in the society through supporting the development of entrepreneurship skills.

In 2017 in Astana and Almaty, almost 300 people took part in the project, who were able to acquire knowledge in project management, attraction of financing, presentation of projects to potential investors and business planning.

During the year, the I-SEED participants independently implemented 18 social projects and developed 12 projects on social entrepreneurship, of which the two best projects received funding from Chevron in the amount of 2 000 USD.

In 2017, 128 people took part in the project in Astana, who were able to acquire knowledge in project management, fund raising, project presentation to potential investors and business planning. 88 students from the colleges of Astana (Vocational College, Multidisciplinary College, Trade and Economic College of Kazpotrebsoyuz, College of Management and the College of the Eurasian Humanitarian Institute) and forty young people aged 18 to 29 years participated in the project.

About 140 young people from among college students (College of the International Academy of Business, College of Industry and Tourism, Almaty State College of New Technologies) and young people aged 18-29 years were trained in Almaty. During the year the participants of the I-SEED independently implemented 18 social projects and developed 12 projects on social entrepreneurship, of which the two best projects from the years. Almaty and Astana received funding from Chevron in the amount of  2,000 USD. A competition for the implementation of social projects was held among the students of colleges.

In Astana, the winners of the competition were the team of students of the Trade and Economic College with the project "Shyn Zhurekten", within the framework of which the project participants held creative activities for social integration with students from schools in Astana and SOS children's children's villages. The team of winners was awarded with educational materials.

Closing of the I-SEED project in Almaty is scheduled for 14th of December 2017, where it is planned to announce the winning team of the social projects competition.
