Timur Kulibayev defended illegal taxi drivers
The head of NCE RK reminded the transport workers of Astana that the so-called "illegal taxi drivers" are the same citizens of Kazakhstan and have the right to earn
Speaking at a meeting of the business community of Astana with the akim of the capital, the chairman of the Association of Transport Workers Medet Kurmanov suggested transferring the issuance of licenses to transport passengers to self-regulating organizations. In addition, he mentioned the need to combat illegal immigrants.
"Timur Askarovich, we want to offer our methods of fighting illegal immigrants ...", - stated the chairman of the Transporters Association of Astana Medet Kurmanov.
The head of NCE interrupted the speaker, reminding that these illegal taxi drivers are exactly the same citizens of Kazakhstan and have the right to earn.
"It's just necessary to agree that they pay the patent, so that the permit is available so that they could undergo inspection on time. What difference does it make to us who drives us? Let's say you will have new cars, then people can choose your service if they prefer better quality: for example, the driver must know English, be a guide in the capital. But most people are willing to pay less and drive on a cheaper car. Of course, this should be technically safe. We all understand that Astana is attractive in terms of earnings and many people from other cities come here. We can’t just push them away, say that everyone will use the same type of a licensed taxi", - Timur Kulibayev said.
