How to export to the countries of the Silk Road and the CIS
On the territory of Astana 9 large enterprises, operating in four industries, are export-oriented. On 25th of August 2017 in Astana was held a press conference on export issues with participation of Almas Idrisov, Deputy Director of the Department for Development of Foreign Trade Activity of the Ministry of National Economy of RK Ruslan Idrisov, Deputy Head of the Office of Entrepreneurship and Industry of Astana, and Zoodel Sardora Muhamedalieva. During the event, useful information was provided for exporters and those who intend to become them. Deputy Director of the Department for Development of Foreign Trade Activity of the Ministry of National Economy of RK, Almas Idrisov, noted:
"The challenge for the Government of Kazakhstan is to double the amount of non-oil exports by 2025. This year, the National Export Strategy has been developed, which will act as an effective mechanism for promoting exports and expanding the presence of Kazakhstani producers on world markets. The Strategy defines a promising "export basket" for goods and services with the allocation of priority sales markets. In order to improve the quality of services provided and to reduce exporters' costs, the Program proposes the creation of a Single Operator for Export Promotion, which will operate on the principle of a "single window".
Ruslan Idrisov added that today on the territory of Astana there are 9 large export-oriented enterprises, operating in four sectors: machine-building, construction, light and food industries. "The emphasis will be placed on export development of these 4 industries in Astana. Based on the National Export Strategy, the Akimat of Astana will develop its export strategy", - the speaker said.
Soodor Muhamedaliyev, Zoodel's Director General for CIS countries spoke about how goods manufactured in Astana can be exported to the countries of the Silk Road and the CIS and about the Zoodel online platform. He also noted that today, Zoodel trading platform is popular among Kazakhstani manufacturers and every day their number increases: on the portal there are already registered about 1200 domestic producers. At the moment about 500 manufacturers took part in the seminars held in the regions of the country.

Users of the site directly buy goods from producers without intermediaries, participating in public and private tenders in Kazakhstan and in tenders of fourteen countries, which provides additional opportunities for increasing sales and entering the export markets. The site updates daily information about tenders in all countries of the Silk Road. For today there is information on more than 27 000 active tenders.
The press conference concluded with the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between Zoodel and the Union of Poultry Breeders of Kazakhstan, the Union of Secondary Metal Manufacturers, the Association of Cable Plants in Kazakhstan, the Federation of the Quality Control System of Kazakhstani Goods and Services Halyk Markasy and the Kazlimprom.
After the press conference, a business seminar "Yes, you can export!" was launched, in which the producers of Astana took part. They were interested in new tools to promote their products abroad, the possibility of marketing promotion and the search for potential customers.
