The Frenchmen spoke about Kazakhstani sheep breeding
In order to create the conditions for the development of livestock, the sale of products and information support for the subjects of the agro-industrial complex, the Center for Agro-competencies under NCE RK "Atameken" conducts training to exchange experiences among peasants. As part of the planned seminars, the French agricultural engineer Zerom Gyo arrived to Kazakhstan. The foreign colleague shared the peculiarities of this sphere in his homeland and told how best to optimize the work of farmers in Kazakhstan. "We have a breeding scheme in France. She works for a company that provides specialized products. For 50 years the French are engaged in choosing the best sheep. We are sure that with proper nutrition it is possible to improve the quality of their meat", - the French expert said.
In Kazakhstan, sheep breeding is most often the only source of obtaining the most important types of products - wool, meat - lamb, fur and fur sheepskin. The economic importance of sheep products is determined by its quantity, quality, market requirements and cost, which is generally due to the overall technology of its production. According to international requirements and standards, the veterinary system must ensure food safety throughout the entire life cycle: from the creation (reproduction), slaughter, production, processing, storage, transportation, sale, including import and export to consumption, according to the principle "from the farm up to the table".
The foreign expert added that there is a big difference with Kazakhstan in terms of climate and land area. If, in France, the farm has about 500 sheep and 100 hectares, in Kazakhstan, the same number has 3000-5000 hectares. "Therefore, we have to adapt to such small areas. In this connection, sheep are kept in certain specialized places, they are not let out on pastures", - Zerom Gyo added.
Kazakhstan is characterized by a great variety of natural and climatic, economic and ethnic factors that have a specific impact on the development of sheep breeding in its individual regions. An engineer from France described how to support agriculture in his country. "In France, in order to intensively support production, the state gives subsidies for construction of buildings in which sheep will be kept. They also help in financing special equipment and in purchasing animals. They give a loan of 20 thousand euros without interest for the development of the farm. The farmer returns this money within 10-15 years. It is worth noting that the government focuses specifically on the period, calculating through which the time investment is justified. Every 2-3 years they watch how the agricultural development takes place, and provide technical support if necessary", - the Frenchman shared.
At the present time in Kazakhstan subsidies are paid from the republican budget for the costs of agricultural commodity producers for the production of mutton and fine wool, the purchase of breeding sheep, selective and breeding work. It should be noted that measures of state support for the sheep industry have increased more than 15 times over the past five years. The expert of the sheep breeding center Kadyrzhan Hamzin noted that similar seminars on sheep breeding were conducted in six regions of Kazakhstan.
We would like to remind that the aim of the Center for Agro-competencies is to raise awareness of the subjects of the agro-industrial complex by providing accessible information, consulting and educational services. "Now one of the issues is the need to open cooperatives that would be engaged in the supply of lambs all year round. Everything should be unified, only then Kazakhstan will be able to export. In the Almaty region there is the first co-operative - Koilik. It unites 75 farms of Alakol, Sarkan and Koksu districts. There are 50 thousand sheep there now, which were artificially inseminated last year",- added Kadyrzhan Hamzin.
On 29th of October 2015 President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Agricultural Cooperatives", which provides the basis for the economic unification of various agricultural producers. By cooperating, yesterday's small-scale producers of agricultural products can count on state support and concessional financing at 6% per annum. The entire state program for the development of the agro-industrial complex is aimed at uniting small-scale agrarians. The guest from France highly appreciated the work carried out by the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken" to improve the skills of agricultural producers in the framework of the Center of Agro-competencies. The participants of the interview noted the importance of joint work for the development of agriculture and export of products. The use of international experience, modern technology and methodology ensures the epizootic well-being, veterinary-sanitary and food safety of the country.
