The Ministry of Agriculture proposes to expand the functionality of this national company

On the basis of JSC "National Company" Food Contract Corporation" will be created a single export center for the purchase of the entire range of agricultural products, which is demand at foreign markets. This was stated during the governmental hour in Mazhilis by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture Askar Myrzahmetov.

"As for the targeted export policy, Food Corporation was excluded from the list of the privatized companies. And now, we plan to create an export center on its basis. Thus, if the Food Corporation was previously mainly involved in the purchase of grain, it will now be engaged in purchase of virtually the entire range of agricultural products, which are in demand at foreign markets", - said Askar Myrzakhmetov.

The Minister assured, that "the company does not monopolize the market, but does it for "the purpose of creation of export channels".

"After that producers will work themselves through adjusted channels. We want to build the necessary relationships: “KazNex Invest” will provide support with export of agricultural products, and there is such a structure at "KazAgro" - "KazAgroGarant", which will act as a financial agent for export contracts", - added the minister.

Meanwhile, the Mazhilis deputies believe that allocated state funds for support of AIC are used inefficiently. "Only within 3 years the amount of subsidies in agriculture amounted to 498.6 billion tenge. Unfortunately, there are still many problems. The main problem – is reluctance of state bodies in the implementation of "Agribusiness 2020" program, inefficient use of allocated funds", - said the Vice-Speaker of the Mazhilis Vladimir Bozhko.

In addition, Mazhilisman cited data of monitoring on average yield of cereals in the last 13 years. According to Vladimir Bozhko, "with the exception of three especially favorable years, this figure has not increased and remains at the level of 11-12% hectares: wheat, rye, oats, barley, millet, buckwheat". "Only yields of corn, vegetables and melons grew", - stated Vladimir Bozhko.
