Almaty strengthens business ties with the Czech Republic
Businessmen of the two countries held B2B negotiations
Major investment directions and ways to strengthen trade and economic cooperation were discussed at the Kazakh-Czech business forum in Almaty.
"We are delighted to welcome the Czech delegation in Kazakhstan, our economic relationship has lasted now 23 years old. Today, many small and medium enterprises are coming to our country to open their branches. We will be happy if the Czech entrepreneurs and our businessmen will conclude mutually beneficial contracts", - welcomed the guests akim of Almaty Baurzhan Baibek.
During the meeting the guests presented the export potential of their country. "The Czech Republic produces high quality contact lenses, amazing wine and beer, we have the most reliable cars and engineering industry as a whole, agriculture and health resort tourism are developed as well. We have much to offer and I would like to note that our delegation is comprised of large businesses that aim to search for business partners in Kazakhstan", - said vice-president of the Economic Chamber of the Czech Republic Minarzh Borzhovoi.
The Czech delegation also expressed appreciation for the organization of a dialogue platform. "It is a great honor to be in Kazakhstan. The other day we had the opportunity to meet with the President, Mr. Nazarbayev. We also met with the Foreign Minister, Mr. Idrissov and the chairman of the Mazhilis Mr. Nigmatullin. It is worth noting that the relations between the Czech Republic and Kazakhstan are in excellent condition, and we will continue this cooperation. 35 Czech companies have their representative offices in Kazakhstan. We have a constant exchange in the economic sphere. Today we can offer our products to Kazakhstan in the field of nanotechnology, in which the Czech Republic is one of the leaders as well as information technology and software. The following year, our country is going to participate in EXPO-2017. That's when you can see the quality and competitiveness of our products", - said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Lubomir Zaoralek.
Today, Kazakh-Czech relations are at a high level. Our country is the largest supplier of oil to the Czech Republic (one of the four strategic partners in supply volume). In addition, a pilot project for the abolition of visas for citizens of the partner countries will increase the flow of tourists to Kazakhstan. Bilateral relations have been developing in the scientific and educational spheres. About 2-3 thousand Kazakh students each year come to study in the Czech Republic, and their number grows every year. During the forum, B2B entrepreneurs held talks and discussed further cooperation.
