The prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation
The Forum has become a significant event for Kazakhstan, an indicator of the real and exciting opportunities for both countries, believes the head of RCE
"The results of yesterday's Astana Forum of interregional cooperation of Russia and Kazakhstan will not only affect the new trends of development of Kazakhstan's economy, it will identify innovative directions for the profile participating companies", - shared his opinion the Director of the Regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs Erkebulan Bayakhmetov, who participated in a large-scale event.
"The Forum provided a platform for fruitful discussions on various topics. One of the main issues – is the study of import substitution potential, access to the common market, the prospects for the development of tourism, measures on increase of the tourist flow between the two countries. Large range of issues was outlined at the meeting of Kazakhstani-Russian Business Council. The joint experience in the development of bilateral trade and investment cooperation, improvement of the state policy in the sphere of foreign economic activity, for sure will be useful for both sides.
During the panel sessions, participants took an active part in the discussion of further interregional cooperation and identified possible areas of cooperation with potential partners. It is expected that these links can be consolidated into full-fledged interstate cooperation projects. In general, the Forum has become a significant event for Kazakhstan, an indicator of the real and exciting opportunities for both countries", - said Erkebulan Bayakhmetov.
In addition, during the forum was signed a memorandum on mutual cooperation between the akim of the region Sergey Kulagin and Chairman of the Board of JSC "EPC" Alexander Moskalenko within the frames of the implementation of a joint project in the town of Stepnogorsk on organization of production of industrial bearings. The planned amount of investments is 50 million US dollars.
JSC "EPK-Stepnogorsk" is the largest enterprise in the CIS for production of bearings for railway transport, 95% of the production is oriented for the Russian market. The company mastered the production of new modifications of the bearings, there are plans for further diversification in conjunction with the American company “TIMKEN”.
In general, there are 29 operating entities with the participation of legal entities of the Russian Federation in the Akmola region in all spheres of activity and 352 entities with participation of individuals - citizens of the Russian Federation.
Since the beginning of this year, Russia exported goods in the amount of 34.9 million dollars (bearings, gold, plastic pipe, wheat, coal, ethyl alcohol, meat and dairy products and etc.).
Imports of ethylene polymers, agricultural equipment, oil products, steel products, bakery products, tractors, metal, plastic products, ground transportation, etc.
