The Kazakh-Russian forum is held in Astana
Astana hosts the XIII Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Russia and Kazakhstan with the agenda "Development of transport and logistics potential of the Eurasian space".
Within the frames of the business part of the event will be held the Kazakh-Russian business forum with the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as more than 1,300 participants from government agencies, quasi-public sector and the largest private companies of both countries. The representatives of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken", the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of National Economy, JSC "MC" Metalloinvest”, JSC “KAZNEX INVEST”, JSC "Russian export center", JSC "HIC"Evrochim", JSC "European Bearing company", autonomous cluster fund" PIT ", JSC" Interskol "and others will present speeches at the forum.
According to the press-service of JSC “KAZNEX INVEST”, 56 bilateral agreements totaling approximately 3 billion USD were signed at the forum.
Within the frames of the forum was held a meeting of Kazakhstan-Russian Business Council with participation of the Chairman of the Board of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan "Atameken" Ablay Myrzakhmetov, President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin, the head of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan and other Ayan Erenov.
In addition, under the Interregional Cooperation Forum was held a panel session on the topic: "New opportunities of development of tourism between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation". The moderator of the session was the deputy chairman of the Board of NCE RK "Atameken" Yuliya Yakupbaeva. The session was also attended by Deputy Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Timur Toktabaev, the head of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation Oleg Safonov, akims of oblasts of Kazakhstan, the Russian governors, deputy chairman of the JSC "NC" Astana EXPO-2017" Erbol Shormanov, representatives of government agencies and tour operators of Kazakhstan and Russia.
During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects of development of tourism and measures to increase the tourist flow between the two countries.
Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Russia and Kazakhstan is held since 2003. Previous XII Forum was held in Sochi in 2015 on the theme "Cooperation in the sphere of agriculture and food security".
Russia has traditionally been the largest trade partner of Kazakhstan. The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia on the basis of 2015 amounted to 14.57 billion USD, including export - 4.34 billion USD, imports - 10.23 billion USD.
Currently, 6453 companies with Russian participation successfully work in Kazakhstan in such sectors as oil and gas, manufacturing, transportation, communications, engineering, space cooperation, peaceful use of nuclear energy.
