How grain grows online
Farmers of Osakarovsk district follow the situation in the fields, taking advantage of technology
The current rainy summer creates certain difficulties in tracking the status of many thousands of hectares of cultivated land in Osakarovsk district. Aerial devices are used to help farmers – drones, which monitor the weather. A special program is used to transmit data via satellite. Information goes online, it is automatically analyzed and presented immediately.
Pavel Lushchak, director of the farm "Naydorovskoe", demonstrated to his colleagues the "helpers" during a seminar on raising agrarian competence. On its basis is held a series of trainings.
Entrepreneur urges not to spare resources and to purchase technical equipment, which not only saves time, but also serious material resources.
"It is impossible sometimes to entrust the matter to anyone, and I'm probably like many of you, I try to watch the field in person every day. Now it all becomes easier, the drone flies around, everything can be viewed via the computer. If there is any problem, then I just send there a specialist who will remove it. No need to spend extra gasoline", - says P. Lushchak.
He also shared his observations.
"Despite the fact that the forecast for this year, which was like one in 2012, as a leap year, we were warned about droughts, but we see a completely different situation. For example, on 15th of July within one day fell about 20 millimeters of precipitation, that is 70% of normal monthly precipitation. We all have gained 55.5% - this is quite a large supply of moisture, because usually at this time we have 30%", - says the farmer, pointing to the monitor data.
Within 20 days of July the Central Kazakhstan had rains of three-month rate. Experts say it is beneficial for plants. There are some concerns that there may be disease, but there are high hopes for excellent harvest.
