"On behalf of Prime Minister Karim Massimov, the Ministry for Investment and Development of the country held consultations and negotiations with the Turkish aviation authorities, airline companies, engaged in transportation, and travel agencies of the two countries. Following the talks, the Ministry had decided to resume flights between Kazakhstan and Antalya, decision about flights to other areas of Turkey will be announced later", - said the official representative of the MID RK Kaisar Zhumabayuly on Facebook.
Kazakhstan news agency with reference to the information of the Ministry of Investment and Development also said that on Saturday the Airport in the city of Antalia is operating normally; airfields of Istanbul (Ataturk) and Ankara do not accept and do not deploy aircraft. In the period from 11.00 at 12.00 Astana time on Saturday the Istanbul airport (Ataturk) accepted only two flights and released one. In connection with the situation in Turkey, 13 flights were detained, including nine performed by Kazakhstani and four by Turkish airlines. The number of Kazakhstani passengers on detained flights is 2 thousand 329 persons, from Turkey - 2 thousand 747 people.
"The main part of the Kazakhstani tourists are resting on the coast of Antalya. Tours of our citizens end with on a daily basis for the next seven days, starting from today. To date, about a thousand people have to leave the hotel and to fly back home. However, travel companies are willing to extend their own stay for free. MID RK has sent a request to the largest travel association in Turkey "TURSAB" with a request to treat loyally Kazakhstani tourists and to provide accommodation for the next few days for free", - the Ministry of investment and development informed the agency" Novosti-Kazakhstan".
According to the agency, the Kazakh tourists have started to contact the consulate in Antalya and to get registered: about 200 Kazakh families got in touch with diplomats on Saturday by 5 p.m. Astana time.
