President urged Akims of regions to follow the example of the capital in matters of socio-economic development of regions

By the results of the last year, among the regions of the country Astana has reached the highest rate of gross domestic product growth - 5%, providing 40% growth of the entire economy of Kazakhstan in 2015. This was announced today at a meeting on development of Astana and preparation for the international exhibition in Astana by Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

"Much work has been done to attract investment. Overall, since the formation of the capital, investment has exceeded 6 trillion tenge. As you can see, a lot of money. Of these, 2 trillion has been allocated from the state budget, 4 trillion tenge have been transferred in the form of taxes to the Treasury", - said N. Nazarbayev.

The Head of State stressed that this "has been a very profitable project, carried out by the state".

 "As you can see, the expenses of the state were refunded. Astana has become a donor of our budget for the first time. It transferred 900 billion tenge. 75% of all revenue comes from small and medium businesses, which provides employment to the half of the city's population", - said the President of Kazakhstan.

In addition, the Head of the State noted the creation of 18,000 jobs in Astana - by the end of 2015. The capital has "the lowest unemployment rate - 4.7%, the highest average life expectancy - 74.9 years, wages in the city more than 190 thousand tenge".

"The capital comes with good results for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of independence of our country", - stated the President of Kazakhstan.

"Now all akims of regions hear me, they should work on this", - gave instructions Nursultan Nazarbayev, noting that "EXPO-2017 should demonstrate without exception all the achievements of independent Kazakhstan".
