101 deposits - for an auction
The auction, which allows to attract investors in the mining and metallurgical sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan, will be held within the framework of AMM 2016
Following the success of the first auction for the sale of mineral rights, which took place on December 3, 2015, Vice Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Albert Rau said that within the international Congress "AMM - Astana Mining & Metallurgy 2016" will be held the tender for the right of extraction of ores and minerals. A few days ago, a list of more than 100 deposits, which will be sold at the auction, was presented to the public. It is necessary to emphasize the fact that the purchase of mineral rights implies large scale development of the region's infrastructure - from conduction of research to creation of new jobs. After the development of the field, it should be closed down, according to the environmental standards and legislation. It should be also noted that the holding of the first auction not only filled up the state treasury with 1.5 billion tenge, but also significantly increased the interest of potential investors to MMC of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstani companies bought deposits at the first auction.
On 19th of April started collection of applications, which will last until 16:00 of 26th of May 2016. Bidding will take place by the English method - to increase the price, any applicants are entitled to participate in it.
The auction will be held on June 16 at 15.00, at the site of the AMM 2016 (Palace of Independence, Astana), at which will be presented the following 101 deposits of minerals:
• 44 deposits of precious metals, gold, copper (base metals, silver, arsenic)
-23 deposits of copper and base metals, lead, zinc, copper (base metals, molybdenum)
-2 deposits of titanium, titanium-zirconium (ore)
-9 deposits of manganese and iron (iron and manganese ore)
- 6 deposits of non-metallic minerals, small sized glist (alunite ore, quartzite, etc.).
-10 deposits of rare earth elements, tin, lithium (tungsten, tantalum, beryllium, etc.).
- 1 diamond deposit
- 4 bauxite deposits
-1 graphite deposit
- 1 deposit of porphyry copper ores.
7th International Mining and Metallurgy Congress and Exhibition AMM 2016 were chosen as the site for this important auction on purpose. After all, this event annually gets together the leading players of the mining industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. As part of AMM are held sessions, round tables, and seminars with the participation of the most interesting speakers from 15 countries.
