Vice-president of the company "Suzuki" held a master class at the NCE RK "Atameken"

As part of the collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), with the support of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan at NCE RK "Atameken" was held a master class on production management by the system "Kaizen". Vice-president of the company "Suzuki" Hajime Suzuki conducted the training. An expert with many years of consulting experience told about Japanese management principles in production, quality control and methods of work by the "Kaizen".

"Western understanding of management is mainly based on the concept of innovation. While the Japanese understanding is based on three components - innovation, maintenance and "Kaizen". "Kaizen" applies to everyone in the organization - from workers to senior management ", - said Suzuki.

At the same time, according to experts, with the western management through investment the company quickly reaches the efficiency, but also quickly loses it. Then, the organization's leadership decided to invest additional funds in purchase of new equipment, installation of systems and so on, but soon the efficiency of enterprise deteriorates again. Thus, a lot of money is invested, but the efficiency does not improve. "With regard to the Japanese method, it requires small investment, but greater efforts to improve the working methods. This requires the efforts of all - from workers to senior management. Workers should use not only practical skills, but also work with their head. Only then, if there are visible technical improvements, the management is investing in further improvement ", - he said.

"It is necessary to invest only in production but also in the development of human resources - it will ensure high-performance", - said the speaker.

Suzuki said that now the Americans often adopt the experience of Japan, for example, the company "Toyota". "Currently Kazakhstan is suffering from the economic recession. Now it is the time to learn something new, not only from the experience of Japan, but also from other Asian countries", - he added.

The expert noted that the term is used in the phrase "Kaizen system" in Kazakhstan. But the "Kaizen" - is not just a system, it is a culture, a way of thinking. "Kaizen" does not cost much, this is what can be done now. Thus, "Kaizen - is a culture and practice", - he concluded.

It should be noted, first philosophy "Kaizen" has been applied by a number of Japanese companies (including Toyota) in the recovery period after the Second World War and has since spread around the world. The term "Kaizen" became widely known thanks to the eponymous book by Masaaki Imai (1986, Kaizen: The Key to Japan's Competitive Success) and was adopted as the designation of one of the key concepts of management.
