Development of business in Astana is at the peak

Capital leads by the main indicators characterizing the level of development of small and medium-sized businesses. This statement was made today by the Akim of Astana Adilbek Dzhaksybekov.

"The challenge to achieve the share of SMEs of 50% in GDP has already been achieved. Now the share of SME in GDP exceeds 61%", - said the Akim of Astana Adilbek Dzhaksybekov during the III annual conference of businessmen of the capital. According to A. Dzhaksybekov, this rate in the West Kazakhstan region is 38.8%, Almaty - 34%. The Akim noted that this figure does not include national companies and large enterprises. "Sometimes there are doubts that this is all at the expense of republican companies and national companies. Their contribution to the development of the gross regional product is reflected in the industry, accounting for 3%. All national companies pay directly to the National Fund and the national budget. 61% of GDP - is the contribution of small and medium-sized enterprises ", - said the Akim.

"Overall, we are to break the stereotype that Astana is a city of civil servants. In fact, it is the city of developed business aimed exactly on self-sufficiency, self-support in the region. In 2015, Astana has become a donor from the local budget ", - added the Akim.

According to A. Dzhaksybekov, out of "850 billion tenge of taxes, going directly to the national budget and the National Fund, 600 billion tenge comes from large companies". "The rest is from our local budget. Astana has become a self-sustainable city that earns and supports itself and makes a significant contribution to the development of our national economy ", - stated the Akim.

According to A. Dzhaksybekov, Astana holds the first place to guarantee loans and second place by the level of subsidies. Today there are more than 120 000 businesses registered in Astana, of which more than 100 thousand are operating ones. 83,000 people are employed in the field of SMEs. "Almost every third inhabitant of it", - summed up the Akim of the capital.
