Small business helps to support the economy in southern Kazakhstan
Small and medium business plays the "crucial role" in ensuring economic sustainability of the South Kazakhstan region. "Regarding investment, 416 billion was invested in fixed capital by the end of 2015, more than half was invested by small business", - said Akim of South Kazakhstan Region Beibut Atamkulov today at the media briefing at the Service of Central Communications.
"In General, especially during the crisis, the stability of the economy is ensured by SMEs, which is why we focus on the development of small and medium business", - said the head of the region.
In this regard, the regions "focuses on the creation of industrial zones in each town and district of the region”. According to Atamkulov there were created 11 industrial zones, there were defined 151 projects. According to the calculations of Akim's office, this will attract 163 billion tenge in investments and create 13 thousand jobs.
Assessing the economic impact of SEZ "Ontustik", the Governor noted that "it functions successfully". As arguments he cited the statistics that "over the years were created 10 projects worth 25 billion tenge in SEZ". 2 145 people are currently employed on the territory of SEZ.
In addition, South Kazakhstan region intends to intensify work on attraction of foreign investors. To do this, a special centre on the principle of "one window" "South-invest" was opened in the region. According to Atamkulov four projects were launched in the region for the funds of foreign investors.
Describing the General dynamics of production of enterprises of Kazakhstan, Beibut Atamkulov said that by the end of 2015 the volume of goods and food services amounted to 345 billion tenge. "Local products fully cover the needs of the region, including fruits and vegetables, covering the significant part of Kazakhstan," said akim.
He concluded that "65% of melons, 60% of grapes, one third fruits and berries, produced in Kazakhstan, is produced by the southern Kazakhstan".
Great expectations in the region are on the law "On cooperation".
"It allows to integrate small agricultural producers into cooperatives. Today our region has about 50 thousand small agricultural producers. There are 18 thousand of them only in one Makhtaral district", - said the akim.
According to B. Atamkulov, cooperation gives to small-scale farmers a chance to purchase machinery for land cultivation. "We have eight cooperatives to register and there are ten more, which are planning to apply. We help them with financing for creation of machine-tractor stations", assured Beibut Atamkulov.
