Sponsorship according to the law
Mazhilis approved the draft law "on charity, sponsorship and patronage"
Today, a historical event took place in the walls of the lower house of the Parliament - Kazakhstan ceased to be the only country which did not have a law on philanthropy.
This gap was eliminated after the deputies approved in the first reading (that is, without a detailed discussion) the above-mentioned draft law. "Its adoption would require an amendment to the Tax, Budget and the Civil Codes, the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offences, as well as in 15 other existing laws", - said the MP who introduced the draft law Nikolai Kuzmin. He added that the bill expands the list of benefactors, including patrons, and systematize the rules governing the existing charity laws, sponsorship and patronage activities. It is noteworthy that during the discussion of the draft law at the meetings of the working group, Mazhilismen made more than a hundred proposals, all of which were fully supported by the relevant committees.
