How should Kazakh pharmacy industry survive?

The future of Kazakhstan pharmaceutical companies in the new conditions was the main topic of discussion at the next meeting of the Committee of pharmaceutical, medical and health care industry under the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken".

Preparation of Kazakhstan's pharmaceutical industry to develop in the conditions of the Eurasian economic integration is a complicated. Due to the short term given to Kazakhstan before the start of the general pharmaceutical market at the territory of the EAEU (January 2016), the theme of attraction of business in the development of draft regulations of the Eurasian Economic Commission is being updated. The results of this work should contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of Kazakhstan's economy, the position of national pharmaceutical companies, ensuring fair competition in the general pharmaceutical market.

During the meeting was discussed the issue of execution of the Action Plan of the Committee on improvement of the competitiveness of the pharmaceutical and medical industry and the provision of health services for 2015, which was developed by the instructions of the President of the Presidium of the National Chamber Timur Kulibayev.

It was noted that particularly actively was discussed the issue of introduction of mandatory social health insurance, issues of improving the methodology of pricing for pharmaceutical products in the system of the guaranteed volume of free medical care. Industry associations encouraged to submit their proposals, including measures to ensure product quality of domestic manufacturers.

Deputy Chairman of the National Chamber Yuliya Yakupbaeva raised the issue of the need to improve the social responsibility pharmaceutical manufacturers in order to ensure provision of quality products. Members supported a series of amendments to existing legislation. In particular, this affected the companies of wholesale and pharmacy retail chains, which have a certificate of compliance of their facility to the GMP, GDP and GRP requirements, pre-emptive rights to conclude contracts in the framework of guaranteed medical care.

The work on the selection of priority investment projects of the pharmaceutical and medical industries is being on. In this regard, accredited industry associations are recommend to assist regional chambers of entrepreneurs in the survey of industrial enterprises to update statistics and to determine the current economic situation.
